By Avanti Vadivelu
Mary Poppins made the advice, “A spoonful of sugar makes the medicine go down…” infamous. But perhaps she would have served her audiences better had she advised to take honey instead. Honey has long been recognized as a natural remedy and has been used as a medicine for thousands of years. In Medieval Times, honey was routinely the medicine of choice for all kinds of ailments including sore throats and allergies, or for healing wounds. And its powerful health agents are just as effective today.

Well, honey contains vitamins, minerals, and amino acids, which do a number of great things for your body and health. Here are just a few reasons why you may want to step up your honey intake!

I just Love honey, it's definetly one of the greatest pleasures in life. It also seems like their are soo many benefits to honey. You can use it to sooth a sore throat or a cough, who needs cough syrup anymore! You can most importantly satisfy your sweet tooth, and with an added bonus of minerals and vitamins. One of my all time favorite comfort foods is a regular piece of toast with a little drizzle of honey on top. Every time I eat that I feel like it takes me to heaven, thats how good it is. I really don't know what life would be like without the sweet goodness of honey. Just love it!
