proper posture
It was really funny, yesterday in a core stability class I went to, the first thing we had to do was stand up against a wall. We were told to keep our heels, botom, shoulders and head up against the wall. After a few minutes we could move away from the wall but were supposed to keep the same posture. It felt really funny to walk around like that. The instructor said that this was the proper posture that we were always supposed to keep!
In order to maintain a proper posture I think we all need to focus on keeping our shoulders back, and engaging our upper back muscles. We dont realize how our shoulders tend to roll forward and we hunch over. ( I know after months of breastfeeding the problem was even worse for me and I had to purposefully focus on 'shoulders back') But even now, years later I realized I still have the same problem.
Good reminder for us all to stand up straight.

That's absolutely right. I've heard weak core muscles and tight hamstring/quad muscles are common issues that result in a hunched over posture. Regular stretching and core strengthening exercises may help improve the posture as well.
i tend to slouch a lot while sitting at the desk at work.... i was considering using a big yoga ball instead of a chair, i've heard both and bad about this approach... namely the bad is that if you have lower back problems, the yoga ball may exacerbate things.... anyone heard anything about this or had any experience with it ?
