Negative Ions

does anyone have any experience positive or negative (no pun intended) with negative ion generators?  i've read negative ions can boost one's immune system.

Here's a Wiki on Ion Therapy.  The fact that is mentions negative ions being created from sun, wind and moving water seems appealing to me.

Thoughts?  Does anyone own an ion generator or has anyone undergone ion therapy?

I don't have personal experience with ion generators, however, I think their health effects are exaggerated.   Here are my thoughts:

  1. Negative ions do seem to be effective against air borne bacteria and particles.  Here is a good article on that: http://www.newscientist.com/article.ns?id=dn3228
  2. The scientific data is inconclusive about their effect on health
  3. Commercial ionizers also generate ozone which is dangerous to breath

I wonder if those small indoor waterfall devices create any negative ions.   That would be a good alternative to ionizers.
