germs

In the bathrooms at my office, I notice how many people don't actually wash their hands properly. Most people use soap, but almost immediately rinse it off. Their whole hand-washing process takes about 3 seconds. I believe that it's really important to wash your hands properly and often - isn't that what most healthcare professionals say is the most important thing for avoiding colds?? Take some time to make sure you've scrubbed each area at least!!

Another thing that bothers me is when people don't wash their hands after blowing their nose. Even though a tissue is used, most likely, especially in an office, those tissues aren't the thickest of brands. It disgusts me when I see somebody take some toilet paper, blow their nose, and then just walk out. I know their hands couldn't have stayed perfectly clean throughout that process.

PLEASE WASH YOUR HANDS!!

i noticed at my son's day care, in the bathroom, there is a sign up with illustrated steps for washing your hands.

it tells you to wash your hands, use soap, scrub properly, rinse thoroughly, dry your hands with a napkin, use the napkin to turn of the faucet (don't touch the faucet), use a(nother) napkin to open the door.

it may seem silly, but you could put up such an illustrated diagram in your office bathroom. hopefully people will get the hint :).

on a related note, some of the cool things i've seen recently in restrooms is:
- motion activated urinals, toilets, paper town dispensers and faucets. i would like to see motion activated soap also!
- no flush waterless urinals. these are hygenic and clean.

At least they are washing their hands....I've seen multitudes of people walk out of the bathroom with not washing their hands at all :) No wonder many people are always sick!!! :)
