Breast Cancer has stolen our "normal" life away from us...
One year ago in January, we found out that my partner had breast cancer. Within two months, she had a double mastectomy and had started chemotherapy. This all happened so fast and it was so scary, we hardly knew what was happening.
She is now on herceptin (infusion, once every three weeks) and tamoxophen two times daily.
It seems that she cannot be around anyone who is sick, even the littlest sniffle, even when her blood count is good. She just got over a horrible time with the flu. Everyone we know who had the flu got over it in a week, she had it for a month. We are now very cautious about who comes into the house, washing hands a lot more and lysol is the name of the game around here.
I keep wondering though if there is anything I could be doing to help her? Is there some kind of diet that she could be on to help her immune system but not overpower her meds she is on? Since the cancer is hormone positive and the lymph nodes were positive, I don't want to cause her more problems.

I don't have first hand knowledge about this topic, but I did read a book called, The China Study. You may want to check it out, especially if you are interested in a vegetarian lifestyle.
There was a blog on myhealthgate about this as well. Check it out here: http://www.myhealthgate.com/discussion/433/metastatic-cancer-alternative...
Thank you so much, I will check it out.
