Lasicks?
Posted March 28th, 2007 by naveenk22
I've heard that alot of folks have concerns about Lasicks and/or have experienced issues (double vision, halos, repeated surgeries, etc) in the past decade. Has there been any new evolvement in Lasicks or notable research confirming a reduction in these issues now?

I'm not sure about any new research but I do know that my retina specialist does not like it. I am very near-sighted, which also means that I have a thin retina. I see a retina specialst twice a year and he is constantly telling me how LASIK is not for everyone, and truthfully, he doesn't like it at all. He says the long term effects negate any immediate vision improvement and especially for people who are very near-sighted (therefore a thin and stretched retina), LASIK makes the problem worse.
I've had lasik many years ago, and personally I have not seen any problems. Hopefully it will stay this way! I think the best thing is to do is to talk it over with an Opthamologist. He/she would give you the best advice for YOU. I would also recommend staying away from the "too good to be true" deals.....
