Certainly Not Reccommended
I just had this really strange experience today ...
My wife and myself, we have been looking to take a small trip together before she goes back to school full time. Didn’t want to spend too much time getting there and back. We did some research and found this place bsspa.com (Berkeley Springs Spa & Inn), kind of caught our attention due to the proximity (in WV) and their claim to it being a couples only place... lots of details on the privacy and all... sufficient to get our attention.
That is where all the good stuff ended, there is no option of making reservations online, the phones are never manned and when someone does reply they sound more like an interrogator than a customer service agent. Even before I could say a word I had a 5 minute questionnaire thrown at me, then a bunch of disclaimers followed by what I am not allowed to do, followed by when I should be doing what I am allowed to do by them..... that conversation did not sound like the one at the receiving end was the one paying quality dollars... when there finally was a break, I asked this dude, if he had any flexibility in these option or I would have to follow his schedule... to which he said he would not take my reservation and hung up.
This is the fastest I went from being furious, amazed to curious and a couple other emotions.. I don’t even know what they are. Ton of questions in my mind... is this a unique experience? Is B.S. spa a shady place? Where they looking for a reason to not allow me in?
Bottom line: I do not recommend Berkeley Springs Spa & Inn to anyone.
On the other hand, do any of you have some ideas for my wife and I for a weekend getaway?

Karpoor,
Sorry you had such a bad experience dealing with these guys. It certainly looks like this place is a shady business. On the other hand, it is better that you figured things out on the phone. It would have been a real pity if you went all the way there and wasted your time and vacation.
I have heard very good things about the Green Briar in WV (http://www.greenbrier.com/site/) which is also a spa getaway. I haven't been there myself though. They may be worth a phone call.
Good luck
John
