Nightmares/Vivid Dreams
Posted March 29th, 2007 by Carly
This is really strange, but I heard someone yesterday at Barnes and Nobles talking about how she has read about and experienced first hand that eating cheese before going to bed brings about Vivid Dreams and/or Nightmares! Anyone else had this experience?

I haven't heard that about cheese. However it is very true if you take a certain type of malaria pills! I dreamt one night I was in a video game hanging out with Mario and Sonic...
I've heard that if you eat anything before bed it can bring on dreams and nightmares. Not sure how true it is because I can't recall right now. The weirdest dream I've ever had was about an ostrich being on my front porch pecking at the door to get in. Recently had a dream about someone having a baby boy and six months later, found out my daughter is expecting a baby boy in June.
I find that when I eat popcorn before bed I have nightmares. I've heard this from a few more people as well. I think there must be something in the ingredients that triggers the dream cycle.
I don't really think what you eat before bedtime affects the type of dreams you have. I know for a fact that if I ever wake up in the middle of the night and fall back to sleep I almost always dream. Just the other night I ate yogurt before bedtime and I soon thereafter dreamt I was floating in the air like a bubble. Maybe the yogurt had something to do with that, who knows? I usually notice if you have had a really bad week you tend to have more nightmares, and if you had a great week you tend to have pleasant dreams. I mean I don't know if everybody experiences that but I sure do!
