very nice article, i especially agree that TCM approaches can take time.  as long as we have the right expectations going into any TCM treatment, we will definitely see results.  this holds true for both acupuncture as well as herbal treatments.  having acupuncture treatments myself many times in the past (lower back pain, stiff neck) i can attest to it's efficacy.

it's nice to see a more widespread embrace of alternative approaches to healing and prevention.

it would be nice to see more health insurance programs provide coverage for alternative medicine options. sadly, because out of pocket costs can get very high, some people have no choice but to shy away from such care.

I've long been wanting to try acupuncture treatments- after a couple of unpleasant health issues I've totally lost my fear of needles and acupuncture is just fascinating to me. I'm a big supporter of massage and acupressure so it seems like these therapies naturally go hand-in-hand. I wish we had more alternative medicine resources in the area where I live!

what area do you live in?

I live in Louisville, KY. It's a frustrating mix of fly-by-night crackpots and strictly traditional healthcare around here, with just enough progressive folks to keep me optimistic about future developments.

I totally agree with the effects of Glucosamine on the knee joints.  I have been giving my husband Glocosamine with Chondroitin, (and that is the key the Chondroitin, you need 1000mg of that per day), for the past year and he hasn't complained of pain in his knee's for a long while.  He's an electrician, so has "Electrician's Knee's!!"
