getting back into the routine

maverick's picture

hi folks,

i haven't worked out in about two months, and i haven't eaten very well during these two months as well. i can see the changes in my body.

i understand why i got out of the routine, and i'm ready to get back into it. before i stopped, i was working out pretty regularly - at least 3 times a week for an hour for each work out. i know i need to ease myself into my old routine, but i'd like to have an idea of how long before i get back to where i was in terms of my pace.

can anyone provide some suggestions?

thanks,
maverick

Every year I get into shape and then winter hits and I hibernate. I can't stand the cold so I just wrap up in a blanket and pretty much become sedentary. It is always hard to get back into the groove. I suggest making slow meal changes as far as eating goes over the first few weeks. As far as the workout part I suggest maybe just doing upper body once a week and lower body once a week for the first two weeks then pumping it up to more days as the weeks pass. It is better to ease back in than to slam you body with full force.
