Herbal remedy for sore throat and cold

I heard about this herb, andrographis, which is supposed to get rid of cold symptoms very quickly. 
 
I picked it up at whole foods and decided to try it the last time I got sick.  As soon as I started feeling a sore throat creeping up on me I started taking the andrographis.
 
After taking it for one day, my sore throat and cough appeared much worse, but then the following day my sore throat was completely gone.  By day 4 of taking adrographis my cold was completely gone!  This is much faster than I usually kick a cold, usually around 2 weeks.
 
I think that it was beneficial to use it.  Anyone else heard of this stuff?
