Fixing shoulder pain (rotator cuff) using exercise

I had persistent and increasing pain in my shoulder that was interfering with fitness activities. My physician diagnosed a rotator cuff problem and gave me a set of exercises using hand weights and an exercise band. A PDF of the exercises is attached. I did the exercises for a few months and the pain went away. When I stopped the exercise program, the pain came back, so I started the program again and continued with it for about 4-6 months, including a couple of months after the pain went away.

That's been about a year ago and I have had no further pain or problems with my shoulder.  You just have to stick with the exercises, and also use the recommended low weight; higher weight does not isolate the correct muscles.

My husband injured his rotator cuff while skiing a couple of weeks ago. The pain is improving, but still sore. I will give him a copy of the exercises and see how it works!
